The biggest thing I’ve found out in my time at Lawrence Graham is just how diverse the law is in practice. There’s so much involved and so many directions to take, it’s not easy working out where I want to specialise. But right now, I’m just happy to be learning something new every day.

The training and support I’ve been given has been amazing. There was an extensive week of training upon joining the firm, which has been bolstered by practice-specific training and monthly training sessions for all junior lawyers. In addition, we have an excellent Information Resources team, who are always on hand to provide guidance in the use of all the resources that are available.

There’s a really positive culture here. Lawrence Graham is very much a ‘City Firm’, but without some of the airs which are apparent at other similar firms. And the well-established support structure is here to help everyone, so people don’t get alienated either.

My tip for trainees is to be ready to learn. You’re not going to know everything, so don't try to portray that. Rather, be enthusiastic, be helpful, be willing and remember that you're here to become a skilled lawyer.
